« rrride » is a project founded in 2017 by Nathalie and Camille, two french cycling activists who have decided to travel the world for a year from South Asia to North America, to find and film local projects whose aims are to have an impact on cycling development, but which also include sustainable, environmental, feminist and “alternative” views.
We believe that cycling is more than just a fun and pleasant means of transportation; it is a way of life. We do not own a car, we are free to ride whenever we want (meaning every single day), to park wherever we need, we enjoy riding early in the morning to go to work (also Nathalie owns a foodbike, Les Pédales Sucrées) or late at night with our women cycling group, Les Zimbes.
Bicycles empower people to improve their health and wellbeing through everyday cycling, encourage autonomy and independence for everyone (especially those who need it most – women), reduce travel time to school or work in rural area, challengesurban-based planning and oppressive structures…
We have heard of plenty of local projects (and know of a few in France) working on cycling’s positive impact and the struggles that come with these issues. Our wish is to meet and film these project runners and to prove the power of cycling through videos 😉
